License from Environmental Protection Authority

We are one of the very few companies which comply with E-waste Collection, Recycling Center and Dismantling Regulations in Ethiopia. 

Under Regulation 425/2018, any entity that wants to open an e-waste collection center, recycling center, dismantling facility, or transporter must:

  • Apply to the relevant Ministry (often the Ministry of Environment or Environment Protection Authority) for official registration and a certificate of competence.

  • Secure registration and a license before operations begin.

  • Maintain records of waste handled, stored, transported, or processed and make these available for regulatory review.

  • Ensure that collection, storage, transportation, and recycling practices do not harm human health or the environment.

Compliance with Broader Environmental and Hazardous Waste Laws

Hazardous Waste Management and Disposal Proclamation (Proclamation No. 1090/2018) governs the handling and control of hazardous waste, which often includes components found in e-waste (like batteries and circuit boards).

Other environmental impact and solid waste management proclamations (e.g., Environmental Impact Assessment requirements) may apply depending on the scale of your facility.
